boraident® Count: Identification of separation layers, Detection of number and thickness of panes in a flat glass package
In flat glass processing, especially in semi-automatic de-piling and sorting processes, information about the sequence of flat glass packages and the de-piling status is necessary. Hence, reliable and robust optical sensors are required to determine these parameters and send them to the central control system.
The sensor system boraident® Count is available as Standard version (automated detection of interlayers) and Extended version (automated detection of interlayers, number and thickness of glass panes in a stack).
Both, Standard and Extended version can be used for all types of glass showing the following characteristics:
- adequate surface planity according to float glass
- surface finish (wave lenght of the measuring laser beam) of 635nm
- 80% transmission of the measuring laserbeam
Thus, the boraident® Count is applicable to float glass, laminated glass, tempered safety glass, and coated glass.
Integration
The sensor system consists of a sensor unit and an IPC with analyzing software. The sensor can be attached, for instance, at the loading or lifting parts of de-stacking machines. The Ehernet connection between sensor and control unit allows to integrate both parts at an individual place.
Interfaces
The boraident® Count is to run by modulare software, thus, it is possible to adapt the system to customer-specific interface (digital I/O, Profibus, Ethernet).
